Why I Created Michaela Flaherty Fitness Nutrition & Mindset
I want to explain why I decided to create this online platform and what got me here.
My career started in 2010 when I began teaching group exercise at a health club for women during the summer before college.
I studied dance at The Joan Phelps Palladino School of Dance at Dean College where I graduated with my A.A in 2012. I currently perform with a professional Boston-based contemporary company called Project31.
As a dancer for 20 years I have a strong understanding of movement and strength which led me to many opportunities in both industries.
I danced for the Boston Celtics as a Celtics Dancer 2014-2016 while teaching at multiple boutique studios and gyms.
My passion for fitness keeps me reaching for more.
I received multiple certifications 2016-present including CFSC, SFGII, PN1, TRX, Flexible Steel, Xtend Barre, Evolve Barre Teacher Training, and most recently I completed 30 hours of online coursework from Empowered Performance.
Applying concepts from cutting edge information on movement, breathing mechanics, and training with my previous background in fitness has inspired me to assess and evolve my approach to exercise and programming.
I made the decision to start my own online platform to best serve my current clients and to help people who were once beyond my reach by being tied down to a physical location.
My goal is to create online services that are accessible to anyone who wants to prioritize their health with the guidance of a qualified, empathetic, and relatable Coach.
